An investigation was continuing Wednesday into an apparent attack on former Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham in Santa Monica, possibly carried out by a stalking suspect who may have had previous run-ins with the musician.
The unidentified woman allegedly threw an unknown substance on Buckingham when he showed up for an appointment in Santa Monica, NBC4 reported.
According to various reports, the attack occurred Wednesday, and the 76-year-old musician was not injured.
Santa Monica police weren’t commenting on the case, which was being investigated in conjunction with the Los Angeles Police Department, which also declined to provide details.
Multiple media reports indicated that there have been previous interactions between Buckingham and the woman.
Buckingham was part of Fleetwood Mac from 1975-87, and again from 1996-2018.
