An approximately 60-year-old man drowned in a Lincoln Heights lake and his 16-year-old son is in fair condition Wednesday after he was rescued from the lake, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.
LAFD personnel were called at 6:35 p.m. Tuesday to the Lincoln Park Recreation Center at 3540 North Mission Road, north of Main Street, regarding reports of a possible drowning. LAFD Capt. Cody Weireter confirmed to reporters the victim was found unresponsive at the bottom of a lake. LAFD paramedics performed CPR on the man, but could not revive him.
The victim’s 16-year-old son was rescued by a LAPD dive team and the teen and his father were taken to a hospital, where the father was pronounced dead, ABC7 reported.
