A 25-year-old man pleaded guilty Wednesday to kicking a man in the head multiple times in a Santa Ana brawl nearly two years ago.
Anthony Perez pleaded guilty to assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury and battery with serious bodily injury, both felonies, while admitting sentencing enhancements for inflicting great bodily injury on the victim. Perez was scheduled to be sentenced July 31.
As part of his plea deal, a felony count of attempted murder was dismissed.
Perez got into a fight at Third and Spurgeon streets May 22, 2024, and kicked the victim in the head, police testified at the defendant’s preliminary hearing.
