A 38-year-old man was charged Friday with fatally shooting a woman whom investigators believe was his girlfriend.
Sir Edward Henee Daniels was charged with murder with a sentencing enhancement for discharge of a gun causing death.
Daniels is accused of killing 48-year-old Ruchunee Jenny Booncompar of Anaheim, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
Daniels was accused of opening fire about 2:45 a.m. Wednesday in the 2200 block of West Huntington Avenue, according to Anaheim police Sgt. Matt Sutter.
Multiple neighbors and someone in the home called 911, Sutter said.
Five residents barricaded themselves in a room while the suspect was firing a gun in and outside of the home. When police arrived, they got into a skirmish with the suspect and had to use “minor force” to apprehend him, according to the sergeant.
Police found bullet holes in two neighboring homes, Sutter said.
