Authorities halted a search Saturday morning for a person who apparently fell off a jet ski on the outskirts of the Port of Los Angeles, with no person found.
The Sea-Doo was spotted running with no operator aboard at about 8 a.m. Saturday, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Fire personnel aboard boats and helicopters were dispatched at about 8:15 a.m. to the area of 1 La Light.
The department issued the following update a short time later: “(The) U.S. Coast Guard has determined the incident to be static. LAFD resources are discontinuing the search.”
No further information was immediately available.
