One of two suspects fired at a motorist who confronted the duo during an attempted vehicle theft in Long Beach, authorities said Sunday.
The motorist escaped with no injuries, the Long Beach Police Department reported.
Officers dispatched at 4:22 a.m. Saturday to an assault with a deadly weapon call in the 1300 block of West 33rd Street located evidence that a shooting had occurred.
“The preliminary investigation revealed the victim confronted two male adult suspects breaking into a vehicle when one of the suspects discharged a firearm in the victim’s direction,” according to a police statement. “The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle. No injuries were reported.”
The investigation was ongoing.
