Officers responded to a collision at about 2:15 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of North Gene Autry Trail and East Vista Chino. They found the driver, who showed signs of alcohol impairment, and he was arrested following a DUI investigation, police said.
Southern California Edison was requested to repair the damaged power pole at the scene. According to the agency’s website, roughly 240 SCE customers were without power as of 7:29 a.m. An estimated restoration time was at 2 p.m.
All lanes were temporarily closed on North Gene Autry and East Vista Chino until repairs are finished. Police advised the public to avoid the area as downed power lines are extremely dangerous.
