A person was hospitalized Friday after sustaining an apparent gunshot wound in the community of Thousand Palms.
Deputies responded to a report of a shooting at 11:28 a.m. Friday in the 72000 block of North Shore Street, according to Lt. Deirdre Vickers of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Arriving deputies found a person who sustained an injury consistent with a gunshot wound. Paramedics arrived at the scene a short time later and took the victim to a local hospital with stable vital signs.
A description of the victim was not immediately available.
No other injuries were reported, Vickers said.
The circumstances behind the shooting were not immediately available. The investigation was ongoing.
