Palm Springs police sought the public’s help Thursday to identify a motorist who struck and injured an 80-year-old woman then fled the scene.
The woman was struck shortly after 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Hermosa Drive and Vista Chino, according to the Palm Springs Police Department.
Arriving officers found a woman, whose name was not released, suffering from major injuries. Paramedics took her to a hospital i unknown condition.
Police said witnesses at the scene saw the motorist briefly stop after hitting the woman, but then drive off. The suspect’s vehicle is believed to be a white Ford F-150, possibly a 2000 model year, driven by a man with a scruffy white beard, possibly in his 60s.
