One person died at the scene of a multi-vehicle collision Thursday in the unincorporated community of Garnet, near Desert Hot Springs.
The collision was reported at 12:45 p.m. Thursday at Mountain View Road and Club House Drive, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency stated that crews encountered a collision involving three vehicles, two of which were on fire. The crash resulted in one person being pronounced dead at the scene. Three people suffered critical injuries and one sustained moderate injuries.
Crews doused the vehicle fires, and Mountain View Road was temporarily closed.
The cause of the crash was under investigation.
