A fire erupted Friday inside an RV on a Mead Valley property destroyed the trailer and spread into surrounding brush, leading to a spot fire that was quickly contained.

The non-injury blaze was reported at 4:20 p.m. Friday in the 20000 block of Fox Street, near Headly Street roughly two miles west of Interstate 215, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The agency stated that multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered flames raging in the RV, extending into vegetation.

Firefighters quickly established hose lays, confining the brush fire to under a quarter acre, officials said. The fire inside the trailer was knocked down shortly before 5 p.m. It was unclear whether anyone was residing there.

The cause of the blaze was under investigation.
