A 20-year-old man suspected of using social media platforms to sell marijuana vape pens to juveniles was arrested Thursday.
A school resource deputy assigned to the Southwest Sheriff’s Station received information regarding a suspect selling the cannabis products to children in the Temecula area in April, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.
Special Enforcement Team investigators assumed the investigation and obtained a vehicle description connected to the suspect, who was later identified as David Hemosillo, sheriff’s officials said.
Hemosillo’s vehicle was located Thursday in Moreno Valley, where deputies conducted a traffic stop near Perris Boulevard and Iris Avenue. He was taken into custody without incident.
A search warrant was executed at Hemosillo’s home in the 15000 block of Perris Boulevard in Moreno Valley in connection with the investigation, sheriff’s officials said.
During the investigation, deputies were led to a second location connected with Hemosillo, where another search warrant was executed in the 30000 block of Milky Way in Temecula.
Investigators located a stolen firearm, cocaine packaged for sale and marijuana.
Hemosillo was booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center on suspicion of cocaine sales, selling marijuana to minors, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and possession of a stolen firearm.
He was being held on $50,000 bail. Anyone with information regarding the case was urged to call the Southwest Sheriff’s Station at 951-696-3419.
