Investigators in Long Beach Thursday said they have arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with two bank robberies in the seaside Los Angeles County city.
The robberies occurred on July 23 and 27, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
The suspect, Reginald Black Jr. of Long Beach, allegedly entered a bank in the 2200 block of East Carson Street and demanded money before fleeing, police said.
Officers quickly caught up with Black and placed him under arrest. He was booked on suspicion of robbery and obstruction and his bail was set at $100,000, according to the LBPD.
“Through their follow-up investigation, robbery detectives connected the suspect to an additional bank robbery on July 23, 2026, in the 4500 block of Atlantic Avenue,” according to police. Their case against Black has been presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration.
Black was being held at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Downtown Los Angeles, with a tentative court date scheduled for Tuesday.
