For the second time in as many days, a body was found in or near the Dominguez Channel in Carson Wednesday.

The man’s body was located when deputies responded about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday to a report of an unresponsive person alongside the channel in the 2100 block of East Sepulveda Boulevard, a watch commander at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Carson Station said.

News reports showed a pop-up tent typically used to shield a body from view, covering a spot on the channel bank.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and LASD Homicide Bureau detectives were called in to investigate.

Another body was found in the channel near the Victoria Golf Course in Carson on Tuesday, according to the sheriff’s department. That death was also under investigation but homicide was not immediately suspected, according to the sheriff’s department.

There was no immediate word on whether the deaths were thought to be related.
