An investigation was underway Monday into a hit-and-run crash in North Hills that killed a 42-year-old pedestrian who was struck by two vehicles.
The collision occurred around 5 a.m. Sunday on Sepulveda Boulevard south of Parthenia Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office identified the victim as Damal Maxwell, whose place of residence was not immediately available.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to police, a black SUV and a silver pickup truck were traveling south on Sepulveda when both struck the man as he was crossing the street westbound outside a crosswalk.
Both vehicles continued southbound without stopping, police said.
Paramedics with the Los Angeles Fire Department responded and pronounced the man dead at the scene.
