Submissions are being sought for Menifee’s Veterans Day Art & Essay Contest for students from first through 12th grades.
The theme of the contest is “Honoring All Who Served.” There are three categories — one-dimensional art, three-dimensional art and the written word.
Prizes will be awarded for each grade category — first through fifth, sixth through eighth and ninth through 12th.
All entries must be submitted digitally to communityservice@cityofmenifee.us.The submission deadline is 5 p.m. Nov. 5.
Winners will be recognized at Menifee’s Veterans Day Celebration.
The contest is an addition to the Nov. 11 celebration at Wheatfield Park which will also include art displays, a series of speeches, flyovers of classic warbirds and games for young children.

Organizers also asked residents who would like the names of military personnel — active-duty, retired and deceased — to be read aloud in salute of their service to provide details in an email to the Community Services Department at specialevents@cityofmenifee.us.
