With more than 37,000 acres scorched and as many as 100,000 residents displaced by the fires burning in Los Angeles County, several community groups and corporate organizations have extended assistance to help.

The Los Angeles Unified School District Education Foundation joined hands with the CAA Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Creative Artists Agency and Community Organized Relief Effort — an aid organization co-founded by Sean Penn and Ann Lee — to launch the SoCal Fire Fund. The fund will be administered by the Entertainment Industry Foundation and support recovery initiatives that aid students, school employees and families impacted by the fires, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Walt Disney Co. pledged $15 million on Friday to support the American Red Cross, the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and other organizations.

Paramount Studios officials said the company would donate $1 million to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, California Fire Foundation, Red Cross, Direct Relief, World Central Kitchen and Best Friends Animal Society.

Ride-service giants Uber and Lyft offered discounts to evacuees traveling to evacuation centers, while the hotel and rental booking site Airbnb extended temporary housing to displaced residents.

Community restaurants and local organizations have been extending free meal services throughout the county since the fires broke out.
