A brush fire that broke out Monday in the hills around the south end of Home Gardens burned roughly three acres before it was stopped.

The non-injury blaze was reported at 12:45 p.m. in the area of August Circle and Skyridge Drive, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The agency said that multiple engine crews from the county and neighboring Corona Fire Department were sent to the location and encountered flames moving at a slow rate through open space.

No homes or other structures were threatened.

Firefighters quickly established hose lays, stopping the brusher’s forward rate of spread at 1:15 p.m., according to reports from the scene.

Full containment was achieved minutes later.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
