Firefighters worked Saturday to put out a 46-acre grass fire in the community of Ordway, north of Moreno Valley.
The fire was reported about 5 p.m. Saturday at Live Oak Canyon and San Timoteo roads, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Resources were summoned to fight the flames from the ground and air, fire officials said.
At 8:08 p.m., firefighters said the rate of spread was stopped at 46 acres and that the fire was 20% contained by a ring of cleared vegetation. Crews planned to work through the night to clear more containment lines.
There were no injuries or immediate threats to structures.
