A fire damaged the attic of a commercial building in South Los Angeles Monday, and no injuries were reported.

Firefighters responded at around 9:15 a.m. to 4100 block of South Compton Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Crews extinguished the flames within 33 minutes, the LAFD said.

“In a coordinated effort from both the roof and interior, crews located fire in the attic and initiated salvage operations to protect property in the market below,” said Lyndsey Lantz of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

“All occupants were confirmed safely out of the building, with no injuries reported,” Lantz said.

Firefighters remained on scene to overhaul the damage.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
