Nearly 245,000 ballots from Tuesday’s election still need to be counted, Los Angeles County election officials said Wednesday.
A total of 1,147,248 ballots were counted on Tuesday, for a turnout of 25.25 percent in the county, according to the Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk’s Office.
Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk Dean Logan said 114,229 provisional ballots still need to be counted, along with 119,862 vote-by-mail ballots that were turned in at polling places on Tuesday. The county also received 10,656 vote-by-mail ballots in the mail on Tuesday, and those also still need to be tallied.
The ballots will be verified and counted over the next 28 days.
