About 3,400 guns confiscated by authorities will be melted down on Monday, authorities said.
The 22nd Annual Gun Melt, organized by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, is being held at 10 a.m. at Gerdau Street Mill, 12459-B Arrow Route in Rancho Cucamonga.
Sheriff Jim McDonnell will announce the destruction of weapons confiscated by his department and 10 participating law enforcement agencies.
The firearms will be melted down into steel rebar for use in local highways and bridges.
