Saturday is the last day candidates can file the declaration of intention to run for the Los Angeles City Council primary election in even-numbered council districts.
Potential candidates must file a declaration of intention to become a candidate and submit a qualifying nominating petition in order to appear on the ballot.
Prospective candidates must file their paperwork at the Piper Technical Center, Office of the City Clerk Election Division, 555 Ramirez St., Space 300. The City Clerk’s Office hours are 8 a.m. to noon Saturday.
Candidates who have filed their declaration of intention may obtain their nominating petitions beginning Saturday at the clerk’s office. The period to file completed nominating petition ends at 5 p.m. on Dec. 4.
