A person was struck by a Metro Blue (A) Line train in Compton Monday, temporarily suspending rail services in the area.

The person was hit about 2:35 p.m. as a northbound train was approaching the Artesia station located in the 100 block of West Artesia Boulevard, according to a Metro representative.

Details on the person’s condition were not immediately available.

Rail services between the Artesia and Compton Metro stations were suspended for an unknown duration as authorities investigated the collision. Bus shuttles were available for riders traveling between the Artesia and Compton stations.
