Two City Council candidates, Tim McOsker and Hugo Soto-Martinez, declared victory Tuesday in their respective races for Los Angeles City Council seats and a third, Katy Young Yaroslavsky, was “optimistic” that she would prevail after her opponent conceded.
That leaves just one more race — the 11th District contest between Erin Darling and Traci Park — unclear after Tuesday’s election update from the L.A. County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk. An additional 92,776 ballots were added to the tally Tuesday for a total of nearly 1.9 million ballots counted so far.
The next update will be Wednesday afternoon between 4 and 5 p.m.
Park remained ahead of Darling by more than 5,000 votes on Tuesday, with Darling slightly narrowing the gap. The winner will replace Councilman Mike Bonin, who chose not to run for re-election.
Martinez maintained a 55% to 45% lead on O’Farrell, ahead by nearly 5,000 votes. O’Farrell, who has represented the 13th District for two terms, conceded the race on Tuesday afternoon.
McOsker, who declared victory earlier on Tuesday in the 15th District, continued to hold nearly two-thirds of the vote over Danielle Sandoval.
In the Fifth District race, where Sam Yebri conceded to Yaroslavsky, Yaroslavsky leads by more than 11,000 votes.
