The Los Angeles City Council Tuesday approved a motion seeking to add a fourth constituent services office in the Fifteenth District, which would provide residents with greater access to their local government.

In a 13-0 vote — with council members Paul Krekorian and John Lee absent from Tuesday’s meeting — the council approved a motion introduced by Councilman Tim McOsker, who represents Council District 15, to add a constituent services office located at 970 W. 190th in a new neighborhood shopping center called the “The Enclave.”

The motion authorizes the General Services Department to negotiate and execute a lease for the new office, as well as request the city attorney’s office to review and approve a lease agreement.

McOsker’s motion noted some areas in his district — Watts, Harbor Gateway, Harbor City, Wilmington and San Pedro — are in “need of a city-leased space for constituent services and a drop-in center for city departments.”

The Enclave, a collection of premier office space and curated restaurants, would provide a center focused on “creating exciting and vibrant environments that foster creativity, collaboration and a sense of community,” the motion reads. The property owner intends to submit a draft floor plan as well as specific terms and conditions for a potential lease agreement.

According to a spokesperson for McOsker’s office, the councilman intends to establish constituent services offices in each of the five communities he represents. This plan would establish a constituent office in the Harbor Gateway community.

McOsker also has offices in San Pedro, located at 638 S. Beacon St.; Watts, located at 1513 E. 103rd St.; and in Wilmington, located at 544 N. Alavon Blvd.
