Metro and the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power Saturday will complete track and power upgrades on a section of the transit agency’s A (Blue) Line, disrupting some train service that will be replaced by bus shuttles to help riders reach their destinations.
The transit agency announced Friday that work on the A Line will require an interruption of rail service northbound between Union Station and the Southwest Museum Station Saturday, from 4:30 a.m. open to 7 p.m. Due to the work, free bus shuttles — Metro A Line Shuttle 853 — will replace rail service and take passengers every 20 minutes between five stations: Union Station, Chinatown, Lincoln/Cypress, Heritage Square and Southwest Museum.
Shuttle 853 is expected to stop at Bay #3 for Union Station; Alameda and College streets for Chinatown; Avenue 26 and Lacy Street for Lincoln/Cypress; Pasadena and French avenues for Heritage Square; and Marion Way and Museum Drive for Southwest Museum.
Metro will place temporary signs for directions to help riders. Train service will continue to run northbound and southbound throughout the line, according to the transit agency.
