The Los Angeles City Council will reconvene Tuesday following a three-week winter recess, with plans to finalize the schedules for its committees, which oversee critical city functions such as public safety, the homelessness crisis and housing.

Under the City Charter, the council president organizes the committees, which provide recommendations and information to guide future council decisions

Council members will consider approving the proposed schedules for long-standing committees. According to a letter from Council President Marqueece Harris-Dawson, he proposed meeting dates for the following committees:

— Arts, Parks, Libraries and Community Enrichment meet on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at 8:30 a.m. in Room 401 at City Hall;

— Budget and Finance meet on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 2 p.m. in Council Chambers;

— Civil Rights, Equity, Immigration, Aging and Disability meet on the first and third Fridays of the month at 2 p.m. in Council Chambers;

–Economic Development and Jobs meet on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 2 p.m. in Room 401 at City Hall;

— Energy and Environment meet on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 3:30 p.m. in the Board of Public Works Room at City Hall;

— Government Efficiency, Innovation, and Audits meet on the third Friday of the month at 8:30 a.m. in Room 401 at City Hall;

— Government Operations meet on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 8:30 a.m. in Room 401 at City Hall;

— Housing and Homelessness meet on Wednesdays at 2:30 p.m. in Council Chambers;

— Personnel and Hiring would meet on the second and fourth Fridays of the month at 8:30 a.m. in Room 401 at City Hall;

— Planning and Land Use Management meet on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at 2 p.m. in Council Chambers;

— Public Safety meet on the first and third Wednesdays of the month at 3:30 p.m. in the Board of Public Works Room at City Hall;

— Public Works meet on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month at 3:30 p.m. in Room 401 at City Hall;

— Rules, Elections and Intergovernmental Relations meet on the first Friday of the month at 9 a.m. in Council Chambers;

— Trade, Travel, and Tourism meet on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at 2 p.m. in Room 401 at City Hall; and

— Transportation meets on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month at 8:30 a.m. in Room 401 at City Hall

In addition to those committees, at a future date, the City Council will consider the 2025 schedules for the Ad Hoc Committee on the 2028 Olympics and Paralympic Games, the Ad Hoc Committee on Unarmed Crisis Prevention, Intervention and Community Services, the Government Efficiency, Innovation and Audits Committee and the Board of Referred Powers.
