Fans of Mexico’s men’s soccer national team can expect live viewing parties, family days and a salsa concert as part of activities this summer at the country’s hospitality venue in downtown Los Angeles, officials announced Tuesday.
LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes is hosting the hospitality venue of the Mexican government, officially known as Casa Mexico Los Angeles 2026. Activities are expected to begin on June 11 with a live broadcast of Mexico’s opening match against South Africa, which will take place in Mexico City.
Subsequent watch parties are scheduled for June 18 when Mexico takes on South Korea, and on June 14, when Mexico competes against the Czech Republic. Depending on the team’s performance, Casa Mexico could announce additional watch parties or other cultural activities.
“Casa Mexico Los Ãngeles 2026 will be a gathering space to proudly celebrate our roots, support the Mexican National Team, and share the cultural richness of our country with all communities in Southern California. We want every visitor to feel at home and experience a true celebration of unity,” Consul General of Mexico in Los Angeles Carlos González Gutiérrez said in a statement.
Casa Mexico is scheduled to host two family days on June 28 and July 11, with the final event set to feature performances by three youth mariachi bands.
Family Days are part of LA Plaza’s programming, which consist of activities, workshops and entertainment for all ages. Attendees will be able to enjoy music, and experience the different states of Mexico with cultural showcases, tourism offerings and cuisine.
“LA Plaza, an institution dedicated to sharing the diverse stories of Mexicans, Mexican Americans and Latinos in Los Angeles, is honored to become Casa Mexico during the World Cup,” Interim CEO of LA Plaza Tracy Serrano said in a statement. “We are excited to offer a welcoming and inclusive space for all to gather and celebrate.”
Lastly, Casa Mexico is scheduled to host a live Summer of Salsa concert event on July 10, featuring LA Verdad, accompanied by Super DJ Robby.
Throughout the five weeks of the World Cup, Casa Mexico attendees will be able to visit an installation by renowned artist Betsabeé Romero, “Tejiendo Redes,” which features a sculptural goal woven with the participation of the community. The artwork is a “binational proposal that integrates representations of pre-Hispanic ballgame players and contemporary soccer athletes,” according to officials.
Casa Mexico Los Ãngeles 2026 is presented by the Consulate General of Mexico, LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes, Telemundo 52, and Jive Live.
