LA Live and Nokia Theater

Just when you thought awards season was over, MTV unveiled its nominees Wednesday for the 2015 MTV Movie Awards, with Oscar no-shows “Guardians of the Galaxy,” “The Fault in Our Stars” and “Neighbors” leading the pack with seven nods each.

“Guardians of the Galaxy” and “The Fault in Our Stars” were among the nominees for the top honor of movie of the year, along with “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1,” “Gone Girl” and Oscar nominees “American Sniper,” “Boyhood,” “Whiplash” and “Selma.”

Oscar winner “Birdman” didn’t make the cut for the MTV honors, which are known for off-beat categories such as best kiss, best fight and best shirtless performance.

Bradley Cooper was nominated for best male performance for “American Sniper,” along with Chris Pratt for “Guardians of the Galaxy,” Ansel Elgort for “The Fault in Our Stars,” Miles Teller for “Whiplash” and Channing Tatum for “Foxcatcher.”

Best female performance nominations went to Jennifer Lawrence for “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1,” Emma Stone for “Birdman: Or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance),” Shailene Woodley of “The Fault in Our Stars,” Reese Witherspoon for “Wild” and Scarlett Johansson for “Lucy.”

The awards will be presented April 12 at the Nokia Theatre at L.A. Live, in a ceremony hosted by Amy Schumer. Fans can vote on the awards online at www.MovieAwards.MTV.com through April 11.
