First the Rolling Stones performed at a small Hollywood club to prepare for the band’s tour. Now it’s U2’s turn to perform at an intimate Southland venue.

The band — in the midst of a five-performance run at the Forum — will appear tomorrow night at The Roxy Theatre on the Sunset Strip for about 500 fans lucky enough to score tickets.

Radio station KROQ is giving away tickets every 30 minutes for the concert at the theater, 9009 W. Sunset Blvd.

According to the Roxy’s website, The Dan Band had been scheduled to perform tomorrow night, but the show has been “rescheduled.”

U2 began its five-night engagement at the Forum Tuesday night. The band will perform there again tonight, Saturday, Sunday and June 3.

The Rolling Stones last week performed for about 1,200 people during an impromptu show at the Fonda Theatre in Hollywood.

U2’s longtime tour manager, Dennis Sheehan, died early this morning at his West Hollywood hotel.
