But they aren’t saying which two.
Producer David Hill, being helped by Reginald Hudlin, told Entertainment Weekly that a well-known duo are in mind.
The speculation began immediately.
Entertainment Weekly supposed Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele of Key & Peele, or Amy Poehler and Tina Fey of SNL (and other shows) fame.

It would be the fourth time in 30 years that the Oscars have had multiple hosts — after James Franco and Anne Hathaway (2011), Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin (2010) and Chevy Chase, Paul Hogan and Goldie Hawn (1987).
Prophecies on EW’s site included:
- “Amy Schumer and Jennifer Lawrence”
- “Kristen Wiig and Will Ferrel, or Wiig and Bill Hader”
- “Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake”
- “Would also be cool if the hosting duo was Stewart and Colbert.”
But also cautions:
- “As long as Neil Patrick Harris isn’t involved, it should be fine.”
- “One host? 2 hosts? 8 hosts? The key is ‘The writing. The writing. The writing.'”
