“The Flintstones” aired its 166th and last episode in 1966. “The Jetsons” ended after 77 shows in 1963.
Al Jean, “The Simpsons” executive producer, was asked this week if the iconic Fox show would continue past 30 years.
“It’s quite possible that we don’t have to go through the whole negotiation for 30,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “I wouldn’t be stunned if we stopped at 28, but my bet is on at least 30. But then you’d have to re-sign them again. If you made me pick one, I’d say the likeliest is ending after 30, but I’ve been wrong before. I thought five seasons was good when I got there (laughs).”

“The Simpsons” opened its 27th season Sunday with an episode of a dream inside a dream of a dream regarding Marge’s split with Homer. But Jean said: “You always know Homer and Marge are getting back together. We’ll never break them up.”
