The Internet’s alive with the sound of Julie Andrews’ 80th birthday greetings

Dame Julie Andrews turned 80 Thursday, and you couldn’t help but be touched by the outpouring of affection.

The “Sound of Music” and “Mary Poppins” star, who sang a duet with Lady Gaga at the Oscars in March, was the toast of social media.

Julia Elizabeth Wells was born Oct. 1, 1935, in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, England. The Oscar winner was conceived as a result of an affair her mother had with an unnamed family friend, according to several reports.

“Andrews discovered her true parentage from her mother in 1950, although it was not publicly disclosed until her 2008 autobiography,” Wikipedia said.
