Kenny G’s not boring: John Oliver wants him to get Nobel Peace Prize

HBO comedian John Oliver knows how to still the warring spirits of the Chinese: Unleash Kenny G, the musician beloved in China.

“Kenny G is clearly our secret weapon,” Oliver said Sunday on his show “Last Week Tonight.” “He has an uncommon ability to make the people of China stop what they’re doing, and go home to relax.”

Oliver then introduced 59-year-old Kenneth Bruce Gorelick on stage as “the future winner of the Noble Peace Prize” to play “Going Home” — probably a prerecording.

“I bet you’re feeling more relaxed about the situation right now, aren’t you? And I’ll tell you why you are: Kenny G is pouring liquid velvet in your ears right now,” Oliver said. “No one can start an international incident to this sound.”
