Howard Stern, the “shock jock” accused of going soft, made hard news Tuesday morning by announcing an extension of his satellite radio show through at least 2020.

“Now let me tell you why I’m excited about this,” said Stern, once called “King of all media.”
“This deal that I have with Sirius … enables us now to move really into the future – not only to continue to bring you radio for the next five years, but there’s an excitement about an app we’ll be developing that will now include video streaming of the show!”
The news — on the last day of Hanukkah — came a day after The Washington Post profiled Stern under the headline “Is Howard Stern going soft or just getting sharper?”
Shares of SiriusXM Holdings Inc. rose 3 percent, to $4.12 in morning trading.
Stern over the summer said he would no longer judge NBC’s “America’s Got Talent.”
