In 2008, a YouTuber who goes by Laura M posted quick cuts of Disney cartoons set to the song “Dare To Be Stupid” by “Weird Al” Yankovic.
Now the parody/satire singer has gone to the Dark Side — going to work for Disney itself.
As Variety noted Thursday, “Yankovic will voice the lead character in Disney XD’s ‘Milo Murphy’s Law,’ an animated comedy series from the creators of ‘Phineas and Ferb.’
“The satirical songwriter will provide the voice of the titular character Milo Murphy, the optimistic distant grandson of the famed Murphy’s Law namesake. In addition to voicing the main character, Yankovic will sing the show’s opening theme song and perform other songs throughout the duration of the series.”
I’m very happy to announce that I’ll be voicing the title role in Disney XD’s “Milo Murphy’s Law” (from the creators of “Phineas and Ferb”)!

“Milo Murphy’s Law” tracks Milo and his best friends Melissa and Zack “as they attempt to embrace life’s catastrophes with positive attitudes and enthusiasm.”
