The first family-friendly hit of the year continued to rule at the nation’s box offices this weekend, as “Zootopia” “proved that it still has pure animal magnetism,” a movie industry analyst said Sunday.

The Disney animated feature was on track to sell $50 million in tickets by the close of business tonight, according to studio figures gathered by comScore.

In two weeks, it has amassed $142.6 million in receipts in the U.S. and Canada. Add in receipts from the rest of the world, and Disney has banked $431 million on “Zootopia.”

A movie that was kept secret through its development and filming — “10 Cloverfield Lane” — opened in second place, with $25.2 million in sales for Paramount.

“Deadpool” was in third place, with a $10.8 million weekend and $328.1 million in sales over five weeks.

Rounding out the 10 most-popular movies this week, as estimated by the studios and reported by comScore, were “London Has Fallen” ($10.7 million), “Whiskey Tango Foxtrot” ($4.6 million), “The Perfect Match” (opening with $4.2 million), “The Young Messiah” (opening with $3.4 million), “The Brothers Grimsby” ($3.2 million) “Gods Of Egypt” ($2.5 million) and “Risen” ($2.3 million).
