It’s funny because it seems true — the idea that Donald Trump wouldn’t know Kareem Abdul-Jabbar from another NBA legend.

Buried in Thursday’s speaker list at the Democratic National Convention, the former Lakers star said: “Hello, everyone. I’m Michael Jordan, and I’m here with Hillary” only to correct himself: “I said that because I know that Donald Trump couldn’t tell the difference.”

A day earlier, the GOP nominee in fact mixed up two white men — Tom Kean, the former New Jersey governor, and Tim Kaine, Clinton’s running mate from Virginia.

Trump said: “Her running mate, Tim Kaine, who by the way did a terrible job in New Jersey. First act he did in New Jersey was ask for a $4 billion tax increase, and he’s not very popular in New Jersey.”

Abdul-Jabbar, who spoke on behalf of Muslim Americans, has been hammering Trump for months.
