A “Los Angeles Stands for Iran” demonstration is planned for 2 p.m. Sunday on the Third Street Promenade in downtown Santa Monica.

Organizers announced on Instagram that participants will say “No to the Islamic Republic. No to executions. No to political imprisonment.”

The Santa Monica Police Department issued a social media post noting that the department was aware of the planned march, and cautioned the public accordingly.

“We respect and support the community’s right to peacefully assemble and express their views,” police said. “Officers will be in the area to manage traffic, maintain access for businesses and emergency services, and support a safe environment for participants, residents and visitors. Criminal behavior will not be tolerated and will result in enforcement action.”

The demonstration is scheduled to end at 4 p.m.
