Burglars hit two more homes in the San Fernando Valley and Hollywood Hills this weekend, continuing a recent string of such crimes in the area, authorities said.
Officers responded to the 3100 block of Lake Hollywood Drive at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday, where a back door was forced open and there was some broken glass inside the residence, according to Officer Jason Lee of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Section.
Officers took a burglary report, said Lee, who did not have further information about that incident.
Lee also confirmed that a break-in occurred at about 9:30 p.m. Saturday in the 4900 block of Strohm Avenue, in the Toluca Lake area. According to KTLA5, two masked thieves used a ladder to access a second-floor window and enter the home, where they took a large amount of cash, jewelry and clothing. It wasn’t clear if the residents were home at the time.
Last week, officials said Mayor Karen Bass had directed the LAPD to begin additional patrols along Ventura Boulevard in response to a string of recent home burglaries. The department previously announced it was investigating several home burglaries that occurred within the span of 24 hours in the San Fernando Valley. It was not immediately clear if the burglaries were connected.
