An educator in Cedar City, Utah, wants to school Walt Disney CEO Bob Iger on what makes a princess.

“After the tragic loss of Carrie Fisher, we feel that it is only fitting for Disney to do away with the rule that an official Disney princess must be animated and make Leia a full-fledged princess,” writes Cody Christesen in a new petition.
“This would be a wonderful way to remember Carrie and a welcoming to one of Disney’s new properties that is beloved by millions. What we are asking is that the Walt Disney Corporation hold a full ceremony inducting Leia as the newest Disney princess as well as a special service in memory of Carrie Fisher.”
The change.org petition was nearing 70,000 signatures Friday.
“Boi she’s more of a princess than Cinderella,” said Briana Smith of Maryland.
Said Keith Godejohn of Connecticut: “Leia has touched upon the hearts of so many people, young and old, male or female, human or alien, that it seems harder to provide reasons not to indict her than otherwise. Carrie Fisher was a force of nature that was portrayed perfectly with this iconic character. Please honor her and her estate by honoring this petition. It would mean the world to our galaxy.”
