Mel B spiced up her Los Angeles divorce case when her lawyers said estranged husband Stephen Belafonte was running a pornography production company.
The claim was raised during a battle Monday over visitation rights with the couple’s 5-year-old daughter.
“Ultimately, … Judge Lawrence Riff disagreed and said after three weeks of no contact, Belafonte would be allowed two 4-hour monitored visits with the child each week pending a hearing in September,” said The New York Daily News.
Larry Bakman, Mel B’s lawyer, was quoted as saying before the judge’s decision: “The evidence will show that a large number of computers located in the possession of Mr. Belafonte shows he is involved in running pornographic sites.”
The paper noted that Melanie Brown [her real name] received full custody of the girl when she got a domestic violence restraining order April 3.
“Based upon the offer of proof, the court is not persuaded that the minor biological child will be at any meaningful risk of harm during monitored visitation,” Riff said.
The paper said Brown’s team hopes to call 20 witnesses in late September.
“As I speak, we are developing new evidence,” Bakman told Judge Riff.
