Long Beach-born Frank Ocean chose an interesting place to hold his first live concert in three years — across the ocean, fact.
As Vulture.com noted: “After canceling his scheduled festival appearances at Primavera Sound, Sasquatch! and Hangout in May, … Ocean finally took the stage for his first concert appearance in three years at Denmark’s NorthSide Festival on Friday.”
The Fader added a weather report:
“On a rainy Friday night in Aarhus, Denmark, Frank Ocean blessed fans at the NorthSide Festival…. Before his set, fans shared pictures of the stage setup, which included wall of speakers, similar to those in Tom Sachs’s Toyan’s art installation from Ocean’s Endless livestream, and a disco ball in the middle of the stage.
“He opened his set with ‘Pretty Sweet,’ before transitioning into ‘Solo.’”
Born Christopher Edwin Breaux on Oct. 28, 1987, he and his family moved to New Orleans when he was about 5.
Fans at his Danish concert flooded social media with concert clips.
