Jeff Zucker used to be president and CEO of NBC, but now that he’s the boss at CNN he can’t resist giving his old network some advice.
Kibitzing about Megan Kelly and her PR disaster with Newtown-shooting-denier Alex Jones, Zucker said: “I think the issue here is the way that [NBC] has thus far presented it. If you’re going to do this story, the tease needs to be you holding up a picture of dead kids from Sandy Hook and saying, ‘How dare you?’”
The CNN Worldwide president says Kelly’s chat with “Info Wars” host Jones is newsworthy.
But while attending a breakfast Thursday in New York to celebrate the fourth anniversary of the CNN morning show “New Day,” Zucker noted a photo of Kelly and Jones in a car together:
#NBCNews, this isn’t hard-hitting investigative journalism, this looks like Megyn Kelly & Alex Jones just returned from a nooner. #SandyHook pic.twitter.com/iHCCJBsebT

The Wrap said: “Zucker called the marketing decision ‘unfortunate’ and doesn’t think anyone should judge the interview until they actually see it.
“They’ve done themselves no favors,” Zucker said of NBC.
Meanwhile, the hits keep on coming for Kelly.
Megyn Kelly loses almost half her audience in second week of NBC show and is beaten by a REPEAT of America’s Funniest Home Videos. ????

Megyn Kelly’s interview with Alex Jones shows her, and NBC’s, lack of news judgment, writes our TV critic https://t.co/PVl5ofTpK1 pic.twitter.com/S6NOtEF8bl

This is why you shouldn’t give him a platform @megynkelly .You really think this is worth shining a light on? It won’t end well. #Virginia pic.twitter.com/7xPmgfqlru
