Sad Hilary Duff should never have posted those Instagram photos of her Canadian vacation.
Those fun photos may have tipped burglars to the fact Duff was out of the country and her home was unprotected and ready for a celebrity break-in.
Detectives are investigating the burglary that occurred at the North Hollywood home of Duff while the singer-actress was out of town, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Duff (“Younger,” “Lizzie McGuire”) was reportedly in Canada — she had posted vacation photos on Instagram — at the time of the break-in last Thursday.
Officer Drake Madison said the burglary was being investigated by the LAPD’s Commercial Crimes Division, which has been looking into a rash of break- ins at celebrities’ homes this year.
Police did not disclose what was taken from Duff’s home, but TMZ reported that jewelry worth hundreds of thousands of dollars was stolen.
