He defended Mike Tyson, Robert Blake and famously won the acquittal of Michael Jackson in his child molestation case.
Now Los Angeles attorney Thomas Mesereau is going to bat for Bill Cosby.
“The announcement of a new legal team … was made on the comedian’s Twitter account Monday, a day before a scheduled hearing in his case,” said NBC News.
“His previous attorneys, Brian McMonagle and Angela Agrusa, had notified the court that they would not be representing Cosby when he is retried on charges he drugged and molested Andrea Constand at his Pennsylvania home in 2004.”
On his bio page, Mesereau notes how he was lead trial counsel for a prominent plastic surgeon in Los Angeles.
“The California Attorney General charged this surgeon with numerous violations including claims that he exposed himself to patients,” the site said. “During the trial, Mr. Mesereau cross-examined every female accuser, as well as other witnesses. The client was acquitted of all sexual violations.”
Actor/Comedian Bill Cosby is pleased to announce his new legal team for his criminal retrial.

Vulture.com adds: “Since winning the Jackson case, Mesereau defended Suge Knight in his murder case (but left his team) and has appeared as a cable news pundit; he also previously represented Mike Tyson in his 2001 rape case before the charges were dropped, and defended actor Robert Blake in his 2004 murder case before resigning without explanation.
“He describes himself as an ‘unconventional, unpredictable trial lawyer.’”
