Acting legend Candice Bergen recalls a date — “with no physical contact whatsoever” — with a young Donald Trump.
“He was wearing a three-piece burgundy suit and burgundy patent leather loafers and a burgundy limousine,” she said Wednesday on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.”
“She wears a ‘Free Melania’ shirt with some authority,” Cohen said after Beverly Hills-born Bergen, 71, recalled Trump as “a douche.”
The New York Daily News said the “Murphy Brown” actress was 18 and attending the University of Pennsylvania at the time.
“He called me in the dorm, and I was bored,” she said. “It was very color coordinated and I was home by nine. It was a very short dinner.”
In 2015, Trump confessed he had been rejected by Bergen.
“She was so beautiful,” he told the Boston Globe. “She was dating guys from Paris, France, who were 35 years old, the whole thing. I did make the move. And I must say she had the good sense to say, ‘Absolutely not.’”
