Who is Stephanie June Jass?
“Jeopardy!” game show fans know her as a champion who gained fame in 2012 by setting a then record for longest winning streak by a woman — seven games.
Now she’s the answer to a trivia question: Who was arraigned Tuesday morning in Lenawee County District Court on felony counts of unauthorized access to a computer and using a computer to commit a crime?
“A news release from the Michigan State Police Cyber Command Center said it began an investigation after being contacted by staff at Adrian College, who alleged Jass may have accessed several Adrian College [email] accounts without authorization,” said lenconnect.com. “The release said the charges were authorized after a forensic examination of the digital evidence.”
The local paper said the alleged activity happened April 25.
Adrian College referred to Jass, a history professor, as a “former faculty member.”
On RateMyProfessors.com, Jass (pronounced YAHSS) had a chili pepper for “hotness” and an overall quality score of 4.3 on a 5.0-tops scale.
“Best teacher at Adrian College, by far,” said one 2011 review. “She makes learning fun and has a sarcastic personality that makes everything better. Take whatever class you can with her!!!”
