The District Attorney’s Office confirmed Thursday it was presented with three more police investigations involving alleged sexual assaults by Hollywood celebrities — former action star Steven Seagal, “black-ish” actor Anthony Anderson and disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein.
The latest case involving Weinstein was presented to prosecutors by the Beverly Hills Police Department in June. No specifics of the case were released. The District Attorney’s Office is already reviewing two other Beverly Hills cases to determine if any criminal charges are warranted, along with three others presented by the Los Angeles Police Department.
The LAPD presented the cases involving Anderson and Seagal on Wednesday, according to District Attorney’s Office spokesman Greg Risling. No specifics about the cases were released.
In July, the celebrity news site The Blast reported that a woman who catered an event thrown by Anderson had filed a sexual assault claim against him. She claimed Anderson assaulted her when she met with him after the event to discuss other business opportunities, The Blast reported.
Anderson has denied the allegation.
“It’s unfortunate that anyone can file a police report, whether it is true or false,” a representative for Anderson told Variety. “The authorities have not contacted Anthony or any of his representatives about this matter. Anthony unequivocally disputes the claim.”
In March, a one-time aspiring actress held a news conference with her Woodland Hills attorney, Lisa Bloom, alleging that she was sexually abused by Seagal in a Southland hotel room during what was supposed to be a film audition. Faviola Dadis said the alleged assault occurred in 2002 when she was 17.
Dadis said Seagal fondled her after telling her to strip down to a bikini.
It was unclear if the case involving Seagal presented to the District Attorneys’ Office stemmed from Dadis’ complaint. Seagal has also faced accusations from actresses including Portia de Rossi and Julianna Margulies.
Seagal has also denied any wrongdoing. He posted a lengthy statement on his Facebook page in January, saying he was being attacked by “the deep state fascist liberals and the secret government” and was the target of a “modern day witch hunt.”
